To celebrate their first anniversary of trading, the team at IOLLA decided it was time to bring its pledge of contributing to the prevention and treatment of sight loss around the world to life!

Under the umbrella of Live by Giving, one of the company’s four key values, IOLLA chose to partner with an eye health charity, and we’re delighted that they selected Orbis. It was the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital that initially caught their eye, but through learning about the sustainability of our approach of training eye health professionals in developing countries to improve the level of eye care that is available they took the decision to take on Orbis as a charity partner.

IOLLA kicked off the partnership with a generous donation in 2016 and since then we’ve been working together to grow and develop the partnership focusing on social media content and stories to help raise awareness of Orbis’s work with their staff and customers. IOLLA hopes its initiatives under Live by Giving will inspire others to act socially too.

Established in 2015, IOLLA (meaning “sight” in the Gaelic language) is a business aimed at making shopping for eyewear simple, affordable and fun. They have worked hard to streamline the process of bringing eyewear to customers by designing glasses in-house and partnering with factories so that they can provide higher-quality, better-looking eyewear at a fraction of the current high street prices.
